Our opening sequence follows many of the theorists narrative styles. One of them being Propp's theory of character types. We all give in ideas and decided that we were going to use this idea to engage the audience so all the characters aren't boring. We also decided to use Todorov's theory of equilibrium. But we did not follow the three steps of equilibrium, disequilibrium and finally new equilibrium. It begins with equilibrium even though there is some conflict between the characters but no one is harmed and it's not that serious.

Then it ends with disequilibrium. Seeing as it's an opening sequence we couldn't do a new equilibrium as we were setting up an enigma code which leads me to Barthes's theory of enigma codes. I personally thing enigma codes play the most important part in opening scenes as it makes you want to watch the rest of the film. For this reason, we all agreed that it was essential that the opening sequence included an enigma code. Resulting in this, the whole opening sequence was turned into an enigma code. We also considered Levi Strauss's theory of juxtaposition but we we're unable to include it as we couldn't find anyway to include it.
