Scene 1 Walking down the road
Day time
(Medium shot of the three boys walking down the road towards the camera. Brad and Travis are looking over the map walking down the road with Robert trailing behind. Then it cuts to a short medium shot of the three boys walking down the road in sync, walking towards their destination. This is taken from the trees which creates a sense that the boys are being followed and watched. While non-diegetic music plays.)
Scene 2 Outside the gates of the quarry
Day time
(The non-diegetic music cuts and everything becomes quiet. The three boys stop and argue.) This creates tension for the audience.
Robert
See boys (Points at gates), 'Just admit that we’re lost!' (Medium close up of Robert)
Travis
(Shakes his head and frowns) 'No we’re not, just follow us.' (Close up of Travis)
Robert
'No! For all I know you’re reading that upside down.' (Close up of Robert) The audience knows this sense of disorientation for the boys will lead to danger. it causes tension.
Chad
Well stay here on your own then, makes no difference to us. (Close up of Chad)
(Medium long shot of the three boys. Lewis looks down and shakes head and carries on walking.)
(Music plays as the three boys walk towards the quarry. There’s an over the shoulder shot of Robert looking up at the danger sign as the other two boys ignore it. Lewis shakes his head and carries on walking in a medium shot.)
Scene 3 Walking into the quarry
Day time
(The three boys walk into and through the quarry trying to get home)
(Medium shot of the three boys walking through the fence. Non-diegetic sound plays.)
(Medium shot of the three boys walking away from the camera down the long road.Non-diegetic sound plays.)
(High angle shot of the three boys. Robert trailing behind looking nervously around. Chad and Travis in front both holding and looking at the map.Non-diegetic sound plays.)
Robert
(Holds his arms out) We’re in the middle of nowhere! (Close up of Robert)
Chad
(Chad says in an angry voice) Stop complaining! You’re really starting to get on my nerves. (Medium shot of chad)
Travis
Mine too. (Medium shot of Travis)
Robert
(Chad says in an angry voice) I didn’t want to be paired up with you idiots! (Medium close up of Robert) This divide between the boys makes the audience think they will separate and be in danger.
Chad
(Chad raises his voice) And we didn’t want to be paired up with you so just shut your mouth and follow us! (Medium close up of Chad)
(Medium long shot of the three boys carrying on walking down the quarry.)
Chad
(Chad whispers to Jake) I’m going to kill him if he carries on. (Close up of Chad and Travis)
(Travis laughs. Close up shot.)
Robert
(Roberts has a blank look on his face) I heard that. (Medium Close up of Robert)
(The three boys walk away from the camera)
(The camera angle jumps in front of them so they’re now walking towards the camera)- walking towards danger.
Travis
(Travis stops) The map says if we follow this path it’ll lead to a road where we can get help! (Medium close up of Travis)
Chad
(Chad points at the map) Oh yeah! (close up of chad and Travis holding the map)
(Extreme close up of Chad’s hand pointing at the map)
(Robert points in the forward direction) There’s nothing that way for miles. (Medium close up of Robert)
Chad
(Chad says in a cocky tone) Have a look if you don’t believe us! (Medium shot of Chad passing the map over the Robert)
Robert
(Robert raises his voice) It’s upside down! We’ve been walking the wrong way this whole time.
Travis
Well we’re half way there now, we should just carry on! come on lets just go.
(Camera angle cuts to behind them. They slowly walk away from the camera and walk further into the quarry. Non-diegetic music plays. They then walk to the edge of the cliff and the music stops. They are stood in a line and Robert is in the middle.)
Robert
(Over the shoulder shot. (Roberts shoulder) To show the quarry) Where the hell are we?
(Medium long shot of the three boys standing on the edge of the cliff)
Chad
I’ll have a look now. (Medium shot. Chad looks at map. The camera is in front of them.)
Robert
Pass that here you idiot!
(Chad and Robert fight over the map. Chad loses his temper and pushes Robert over the cliff. Camera angle cuts to behind them again as Robert falls.)
(The camera then cuts back to being in front of Chad and Travis. The slowly turn to look at each other in shock.)
(It then cuts to a birds eye view of Robert’s body at the bottom the cliff. The non-diegetic music fades into it and the screen slowly fades out to the credits and title.)
